VARGESIC- XT

This composition contains paracetamol, Phenylepinephrine and cetirizine which is used in the treatment of symptoms of common cold and allergic reactions.

Its blocks the release of histamine i.e. chemical messenger and thus reduces pain and fever. It prevents the congestion or stiffness of nose by preventing narrowing of blood vessels.

It is used to lowers the increased or elevated level of temperature of the blood.

Mechanism of Action-

Paracetamol blocks the cyclooxygenase enzyme which is necessary for the production of prostaglandins.
Phenylepinephrine binds to the adrenergic receptors and thus prevents the vasoconstriction because they mimic the activity of Phenylepinephrine.
Cetirizine binds to the peripheral H1 receptor and inhibit their activity.
